đź’–favorite romance novels

I loooved getting to see your responses to last week’s list of my favorite books on writing. Yay! I got some good ones to add to my own list - thank you!

I am on a MAJOR romance novel kick right now. I’ve shared before that I’m in a period of grief at the moment, and the only thing I can read right now are light, beautiful love stories.

This feels super fitting for two reasons: first, it’s summer and what’s better for summer than a romance novel?! Basically nothing! They’re a by-the-pool must-have.

Second, I’m writing my own romance novel right now! So these fun, sexy reads are basically research. ;)

I also formed a steamy book club with two friends and we are having so much fun sharing all our faves and choosing books to read each month.

(Our main problem is we all read so much that we’ve ended up having to discuss the books via text because otherwise we forget half the details by the time we meet up!)

So, obviously I wanted to put together a list of some of my fave romance novel reads for you all.

Catch the full list here: https://bookshop.org/lists/favorite-romance-novels. (Note that these are in no specific order. ;)

(That’s an affiliate link, so if you purchase any of those books, I’ll receive a small commission AND you’ll be supporting independent bookstores. Win-win!)

And of course, included in this list is Annabel Monaghan’s new book, Summer Romance.

I absolutely ADORED Annabel’s first book, Nora Goes Off Script, and when I read in her author bio that she lives in Rye (just 15 minutes from me!), I sent her an email asking if I could buy her coffee.

We met for breakfast and she’s just as lovely in person as she is on the page.

Here’s a photo of us at her book launch party for Summer Romance:

(FYI: most authors really do answer their own email and love absolutely nothing more than a fan note in their inbox. Email an author you love today!)

Grab your next summer read from this list, and happy reading.
