The internet in general, and the online writing industry in particular, is awash in digital courses.
Don’t get me wrong: there’s nothing wrong with a digital course. (I have one called Published: Your Roadmap from Manuscript to Book.) By digital course, I mean you log in and consume all the course material on demand, whenever you want.
There are certain topics that lend themselves really well to a digital course.
But honestly, as a learner, I don’t love them.
As a learner, I love a small group with live interactions - whether that’s in person or online. And I have gotten WAY more out of the courses I’ve taken that have a live component.
That’s why I knew I wanted to create learning in a live, small group format.
In November, I’ll open up enrollment for the fifth cohort of my Writing Brave Mastermind.
What sets it apart in the industry is the live touchpoints. This isn’t a digital course; it’s a community. This isn’t just a class; this is a learning experience.
In this six month live small group course, which is limited to 16 humans, writers get:
a weekly live group call (mixing teaching and accountability)
monthly personalized feedback on their writing from a highly trained editor, plus a 1:1 coaching session
a virtual 2-day writing retreat
plus, bonus sessions with experts in the industry
We celebrate each other’s wins, we share our fears and doubts, we voice our vulnerabilities, and we are seen by the people in this group.
