Hey there!

I’m Brooke Adams Law: award-winning author, book coach, and CEO of Writing Brave Press.

My debut novel Catchlight was chosen as the winner of the Fairfield Book Prize, named a Best Indie Book of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews, and featured on Good Morning America’s blog. Here’s what you might not know: it took me seven years to write it, and six additional years to get it published. (I was relentless.)

I’ve hosted virtual summits attended (and loved) by thousands of writers. I’ve spoken at virtual events, been a guest on numerous podcasts, taught lectures to college students, and led workshops about writing.

I’m raising two small kids, run a business, and still make time to write every morning (and love it). My second novel is almost finished, and I know it’s good - and will get better.

If you want to dig deep and write brave, I’m here to help you make that happen!

Let’s go.

“Brooke’s approach is really something special…I love her work around the energetics - that’s what feels right to me. It’s really something special.”

-Dr. Kara Pepper

“Brooke was my book coach-therapist-whisperer. She reminded me to trust my intuition and bring the words inside me onto paper. She helped my book dreams become reality and provided the guidance, support and love to keep going.”

-Kelli Thompson, author of Closing the Confidence Gap

“I believed that the bones of my story were good. I had pushed to create strong, believable characters and an intriguing plot, but I could not fit the pieces together into a coherent work. Brooke worked with me to conceptualize a way to bring the story full-circle. She helped me listen to the characters and to determine whose voices I needed to hear.

I needed her expert wisdom to grab my starting and stopping points and build out the framework to bind the characters and events into a work that I can be proud of.

If you're toying with the idea of scheduling a Power Hour with Brooke, pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

-Sheila Arnold

Some Testimonials

“Brooke’s wisdom, knowledge and breadth of field exceeded my expectations. She helped me understand my writing process and trust it… Brooke is an amazing soul and teacher and I’m grateful to her for sharing her light.

-Nadia Ahrens

“Without Brooke and Writing Brave Press, there wouldn’t be a book. Thank you team for being my writing coach, cheerleader, editor AND publisher … you did it all.

My book is more than I could have ever asked for or imagined. It’s a work of art.”

-Sarah Magnoni, author of Not Alone: A Parent’s Guide to Navigating Mental Illness

“I had a session with Brooke this morning and I'm already well into the first draft of my novel -- a book that a few months ago I never would have dreamed of writing. I feel THAT inspired. The Power Hour was the perfect mix of structure and organic conversation, and overall was just so much fun. Brooke helped me to take a few broad ideas and focus them into character development and critical plot points. Getting started doesn't feel so intimidating anymore. I'm so glad I made the investment.”

-Kate Hollis

“When I finished the first draft of my first novel and knew it needed much more work, I shopped around for a coach who would work me hard by pointing out specific things I needed to do to improve, who was widely read enough to be able to show me examples of ways fine writers worked, and who was always enthusiastic about my work without acting like I needed to be gushed over.

I found Brooke, and I feel rewarded for my search. She is so smart, and knows the things a writer must do to develop deep characters, and to drive a story using lively dialogue, but she also seems to intuit when I need to step back from my work and look at the big plot and ask big questions.”

-Judy Dushku, author of the forthcoming novel Is This The Way Home? (BCC Press, 2025)

“I have worked with publishers who wanted to shape my story into something that would be marketable and easy to sell. The problem was, I was trying to write my memoir - my story - and in the process, the agent or developmental coach began to re-shape it into something that wasn't me.

When I began to work with Brooke, I could see that she trusted me as the author of my story, my life.

She entered into the creative process with me, listening deeply for the story line, turning up the heat as I "cooked" it, and celebrating the sound of my voice when it came through. That is so unusual and exceptional and I think every writer deserves to experience this with her.”

-Jane Clark, author of Story Carrier
