🌸how I’m changing my marketing (it involves a haiku🌸)

Right now I’m reading Show Your Work: 10 Ways to Share Your Creativity and Get Discovered, by Austin Kleon.

It is BRILLIANT.

I love how his work is very simple and very profound. It feels very connected to the art-making process in a way that most other “marketing” books decidedly do not. (This isn’t a marketing book, which is part of my point.)

I’m still working through it, and I’ve changed the way I show up online (particularly on Instagram, with which I’ve had a love-hate relationship for about three years). 

I’m not “marketing” on Instagram anymore.

I’m showing my work. 

Instead of sharing tips and tricks (and doing reels to sell stuff), I’m sharing my artistic process. A little snippet each day into what I’m reading, thinking about, and making.

It. Feels. So. Refreshing.
